SAMPLE COLLECTION AND STORAGE
Blood: Clean the area to be launched with an alcohol wipe. Squeeze the end of the fingertip and insert a sterile lancet. Wipe away the first drop of blood with sterile gauze or cotton. Use a disposable pipette to collect blood from the puncture site. The blood can be used for testing immediately.
PROCEDURE
Allow the sealed test to reach room temperature. Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and place it on a flat, dry surface.
Positive:
Two 'red lines' (bands) are visible in the control ('C') and test ('T') areas of the test window. The intensity of the test line may be weaker or darker than that of the control line; this still means a positive result.
Negative:
The control line appears in the test window, but the test line is not visible.
Invalid:
Syphilis Test Cassette (WB) is invalid if the control line is not visible within five minutes. Syphilis Test Cassette (WB) has failed or the test procedure was not followed correctly. Verify the test procedure and repeat the test with a new test.
